X.VILITUR – The Modular Helmet from Nexx

Nexx let out some sneak previews of their latest crash helmet to hit the market a short while ago and we’re so glad it didn’t dissapoint when the final product was revealed. Nexx are still relatively unknown amongst the big fish of the crash helmet manufacturers, but they’re certainly making quite a splash. They’ve been known for their aggressive styling on the N.D1 and X.WED2 Adventure style crash helmets, and the association with Touratech helmets, too. But I believe the newest crash helmet release will put their name firmly in there amongst the big boys that manufacture modular helmets. Modular Helmets are a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them – the lower budget ones tend to be noisy and lack build quality but they do serve a great purpose. ...

Apple iPhone X Waterproof Mounting Kit

We reviewed the Ultimateaddons iPhone 6/7/8 Plus mount kit not so long ago and we’ve had some great news from Ultimateaddons about the iPhone X version. They’ve confirmed that the new case will be launched this month (April) This touring kit for the Apple iPhone X is suitable for sports & sports touring bikes and the kit will allow you to mount your iPhone to your motorcycles fork stem. If you ride a sports bike or sports tourer motorcycle where you have limited space on your handlebars the fork stem attachment is the recommended mounting option. You can get notified when the new kit will be available by signing up on this page. If its as good as the mount for the 6/7/8 Plus, then it’s definitely worth purchasing to protect your iPhone X.

Guy Martin – Back in the races

Fan favourite, Guy Martin has confirmed he is getting back on the bike and racing at both  the Tandragee 100 and Cookstown 100 Irish road races. Guy Martin called time on his road racing career in 2017 after withdrawing from the 2017 Ulster Grand Prix. He signed a deal with Honda in 2017 alongside multiple TT winner, John McGuiness but several complications later and a crash in the Superbike race, he retired from the Senior and eventually called time on his racing career, but it appears that the thrill of the ride is too much for Martin to resist. The Cookstown 100 opens the Irish Road Racing season and takes place on the 27th and 28th April and Martin is taking along his own BSA to compete in the yesteryear Classic race. The Tandragee 100 takes place on May 4th and 5th where Guy will be c...

We Ride London Protest – TODAY!

We Ride London are coordinating a rally at 4:30pm today in Parliament Square to protest against the marginalisation of motorcycles & scooters in London and the UK. We Ride are encouraging all motorcycle riders to attend regardless of the machine you ride, be it a classic bike, or adventure bike. We Ride London are hoping to make a change to the policies of Transport for London & the Mayor of London. We Ride London wrote.. The personal bias of policy making and influencing bureaucrats has resulted in an active campaign to drive motorcycles & scooters off London’s roads, ignoring data produced by Transport for London and others that clearly shows motorcycles & scooters have a positive contribution to congestion & pollution in London and should be actively encouraged as a ...

We were greeted with an absolutely beautiful day to kick off the Biking Season and it set a great scene for us to be able to review the Ultimateaddons iPhone Tough case and mount we were sent last week. The Ultimateaddons range of products allows you to do this with practically zero effort. We got our hands on the fork stem case mount kit for the iPhone 6/7/8 Plus which offers a range of different fork stem sizes to mount directly on to th...

Dovizioso takes chequered flag in Qatar!

Dovi fends off current World Champion Marquez in last corner fight! Oh MotoGP, how we’ve missed you! MotoGP is well and truly back and we were blessed with a stunning race to kick things off in Qatar. The Ducati rider started 5th on the grid and spent the majority of his time chasing the pack until the last 5 laps where he progressed through and the straight line speed of the Ducati helped slingshot the rider in to P1. Although unable to break a gap between reigning World Champion Marquez and Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi, Dovi held the pace through the last few laps in Qatar. In classic Marquez style, a last corner attack put the spaniard in P1 for a very brief moment but the Ducati rider anticipated the move and took the inside line to accelerate back in to P1 and cross the finish...

Aprilia MotoGP team ‘overestimated’ itself in signing Lowes for ’17

Original Article Credit – Francesco Corghi, Jamie Klein – AutoSport.com Aprilia racing manager Romano Albesiano admits the Italian MotoGP manufacturer “overestimated” its own capabilities when it chose to recruit Sam Lowes for 2017. Lowes originally agreed a two-year deal with Aprilia, but the Moto2 graduate was released half way through his contract after a rookie campaign that was largely devoid of results. He will return to the intermediate class this year, having been replaced at Aprilia by Pramac Ducati convert Scott Redding. Asked about the decision to release Lowes, Albesiano said he “believed” in the Briton but added his lack of experience of other MotoGP bikes meant Lowes was likely to fail in his first season at the top level. “Unfortunat...
